Despite the fact that I have this link in my website favorites for quite a long time, I never get bored listening to it. The singer,Vitas, is well known by his legendary dolphin voice and a wide vocal range that some say streches across 8 octaves. I am certainly not a big fan of extremely high pitch, (such as his famous song"Opera 2") but somehow I am enchanted by this exordinary piece of music.If any word should be used to describe Vitas voice in this song, it has to be the word "angelic". He sings like he's an angel sent from Heaven.
"Lucia Di Lammermoor" is the name of the song, originally sang by someone else in a futuristic movie called "the fifth element" . The lyric was about a love story that is (suprisingly) sad and tragic, yet the composition is so beautiful. Perhaps we can see this contraditon as the irony of love and love's power to deceive.
